SAN JOSE – Injured forwards Andreas Johnsson and Alexander Barabanov will likely not play again this season, Sharks coach David Quinn said Saturday morning before his team played the Edmonton Oilers in its final home game of the season.Johnsson hasn’t played since March 20 when he blocked a shot by defenseman Darnell Nurse in the second period of the Sharks’ road game against the Oilers. Barabanov’s last game was March 25 against the Calgary Flames.Winger Oskar Lindblom was initially considered day-to-say after he was injured in the Sharks’ game with the Vegas Golden Knights on March 30, but will miss his fourth straight game Saturday. (KRON) – Two separate illegal sideshows occurred in the Cities of Oakland and Richmond early Saturday morning, according to police. In Richmond, around 200 vehicles were reportedly involved in illegal sideshow activity at around 2 a.m. The sideshow traveled through several areas of the city before cars began to leave the scene, police said. ‘Save Women’s Sports’ advocate Riley Gaines says she was attacked after speech at SFSU In Oakland, over 50 cars were reportedly involved in illegal sideshow activity just after 3:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Adeline Street. Michigan freshman forward Adam Fantilli has been named the recipient of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, recognizing the top player in college hockey.The Minnesota-based Hobey Baker Memorial Award Committee announced the award Friday.Fantilli, of Nobleton, Ontario, helped the Wolverines reach the Frozen Four this weekend in Tampa, Florida, where they lost to Quinnipiac in the national semifinals. VANCOUVER — British Columbia’s transportation ministry says an “intense spring storm” is poised to hit a 150 km stretch of Highway in the southeastern part of the province. DriveBC issued a travel advisory Saturday morning for a portion of Highway 1 running between Golden and Revelstoke.It says the storm is expected to peak on Monday and may require avalanche control work affecting traffic in both directions. DriveBC says a closure of up to 8 hours may be required to ensure traveler safety. The travel advisory covers the stretch of Highway 1 between Highway 23 South and Golden Donald Upper Rd..It says it will issue another update on Monday. (AP) — The public will have to wait a little longer to visit the North Rim at Grand Canyon National Park this year.Like other parts of the West, northern Arizona received an abundance of snow over the winter, and park officials say pushing back the opening from mid-May to June 2 will give them more time to plow the main state road that leads to the rim and allow staff to reopen visitor facilities.“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our neighbors and visitors with this delay as our partners and park staff work to open the North Rim roads, trails and facilities safely,” Superintendent Ed Keable said in a statement Friday. According to park officials, the North Rim has received more than 250 inches (6.35 meters) of accumulated snowfall since October. That marks what is believed to be the second-snowiest on record for the North Rim since 1925, although there are some years of missing data during that time period.
