(@DenverPolice) May 26, 2023Responding officers found a woman and a man who were shot, the man was dead at the scene, police said. An argument led to the shooting and the suspect and the man who died were known to each other.Antonio Simpson, 34, was arrested Thursday on investigation of first-degree murder and attempted murder, police said.

Suspect arrested in Aurora fatal shooting involving driver crashing into 7-Eleven A suspect has been arrested in a fatal Aurora shooting involving a driver crashing in to a 7-Eleven store.Kali Collins, 21, of Denver, was arrested Friday on investigation of first-degree murder in connection to an early morning shooting in the Centre Pointe neighborhood, police said in a news release. Officers responded to 15550 E. Mississippi Ave. and found that a driver who crashed into the store had been fatally shot.An investigation is ongoing, anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 (STOP).

DU women’s lacrosse bid for perfection ends with Final Four loss to Northwestern The University of Denver women’s lacrosse team’s bid for perfection fell two wins short Friday afternoon.Instead, the Pioneers had to settle for the best season in program history after top-seeded Northwestern eliminated DU with a 15-7 victory in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.The Pios’ first and only loss of the season dropped them to 22-1 to close out the campaign.“Only one team wins at the end of the year and Northwestern played a great game,” DU head coach Liza Kelly told reporters. “I’m just so proud of everything this team has done — in particular the senior class. Robbery suspects caught after high-speed chase in Los Angeles County A group of robbery suspects were caught after a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County on Friday night.Four suspects were inside the vehicle when the pursuit began in Bakersfield. Officers continued following the suspects into L.A. Brewers' Adames hospitalized after being hit by line drive in dugout against Giants (KRON) -- The Giants' Friday night contest against the Brewers was delayed in the second inning after Milwaukee shortstop Willy Adames was hit by a line drive. Adams was taken to a hospital for additional tests.Adames was in Milwaukee's dugout when he was struck by a foul ball off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson. The game paused for several minutes as the Brewers' training staff tended to Adames. A’s rookie on pace for historic season Adams eventually walked from the dugout to the clubhouse. He was replaced in the lineup by Brice Turang.Anderson was visibly rattled after the play. In the ensuing inning, Milwaukee made two errors in the field and allowed seven runs.
