Motorcycle Accident Near Horse Creek Road Kills 19-Year-Old ManTULARE COUNTY, CA June 27, 2023) – A rider died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 198 in the Three Rivers area Sunday afternoon.On June 11th, CHP officers responded to a crash at around 2:00 p.m. east of Horse Creek Road.Upon arrival, investigators determined that an eastbound 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle veered off the road while traveling at a high rate of speed.As a result, the Kawasaki crashed into a large boulder at the edge of the road and ejected the motorcyclist. In addition, the motorcycle overturned multiple times before coming to a stop.Unfortunately, the first responders declared the 19-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the incident, according to the California Highway Patrol. Single-Vehicle Accident Near Cook Riolo Road Left Three DeadPLACER COUNTRY, CA (June 27, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a power pole crash in Placer County Killed Zachary Brown, Lucas Braner, and Lane Castro.The incident happened around 1:50 a.m. along westbound Vineyard Road, just west of Cook Riolo Road.According to the investigators, a BMW was traveling along Vineyard Road at a high rate of speed. For reasons currently unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it struck a power pole. The BMW then continued on, hit a brick gate, and came to a stop on the south shoulder of Vineyard Road.Emergency crews arrived to the site of the collision shortly after. After assessing the situation, officials pronounced the three occupants of the BMW dead at the scene. The County Coroner’s office later identified the victims as Zachary Brown, Lucas Braner, and Lane Castro. EAST PALO ALTO — Police are still looking for a 46-year-old man accused of entering a home and sexually assaulting someone on June 3.46-year-old Juan Ortiz is wanted for entering an East Palo Alto home and committing a sexual assault on June 3, police say. OAKLAND — A Bay area man is set to be sentenced to 21 years in a case where he allegedly kidnapped a getaway driver after killing a man in the city’s Arroyo Viejo neighborhood.John Fritz Jr., 44, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and use of a gun in the death of 48-year-old Kevin Williams, and admitted to having a prior conviction. In exchange, prosecutors dropped murder, carjacking, and kidnapping charges against him. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday and remains in Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in the meantime.Williams was shot and killed on the morning of Nov. 3, 2020, near 79th Avenue and Holly Street in Oakland.
