Beau LaBore and his coaching staff made a point to savor the 2022 Stillwater football season, knowing how rare it was to work with a quarterback as talented as Max Shikenjanski. The signal caller, now a walk-on player with the Gophers, earned East Metro Player of the Year honors while guiding the Ponies to the Class 6A state tournament via its high-powered aerial attack. Those types of passers do not come around often. And yet, Stillwater might have another one.No, Nick Kinsey is not at Shikenjanski’s level of quarterbacking — not yet. But early returns suggest the sophomore is on that trajectory.Through three games, the Ponies are 2-1, with victories over rivals Woodbury and East Ridge. In the road win over the Royals, Kinsey passed for 357 yards and four touchdowns. That single-game yardage mark ranks No. 2 all time in the Ponies’ program history, trailing only Shikenjanski.“I think any time that you are seeing a quarterback have success, and he’s in 10th grade, you’ve got to be hap...Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, almost 39, blocking retirement

Marc-Andre Fleury will turn 39 on Nov. 28, and while he showed last season he can still be an effective NHL goaltender, he acknowledged that this year’s Wild training camp might be his last.On the first day of camp Thursday at TRIA Rink, the man who ranks fourth all-time for career NHL games by a goalie said he spent time this summer contemplating retirement when his contract runs out at the end of the season.“I just told myself I would give myself a season, see how it goes, see how I feel physically, mentally, if I still can stop the puck and just make a decision at the end,” he said.Acquired from Chicago at the 2021 trade deadline, Fleury signed a two-year, $7 million contract extension that expires after this season. He has won the Stanley Cup three times, and needs only seven wins to catch Patrick Roy (551) for second all-time — firmly within the grasp of a goalie who was 24-26-4 with a 2.85 goals-against average last season, his 13th in the NHL.“I don’t want to jinx it, t...At Mid-Autumn Festival, mooncakes and cultural performances will mark 35th anniversary of Changsha relationship

ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- The Nourish New York program was created during the pandemic as a way to help with the disrupted food chain which is now a permanent program, but a state audit from the Comptroller's Office shows there isn’t enough oversight for Nourish New York. Experts say one in 10 New Yorkers suffer with food insecurity. The program was created to alleviate that issue as well as helping local farmers by connecting them with food banks. "So it provides money for food banks to purchase directly from New York State farmers so they get the freshest produce, they get local milk products that are then distributed to people in need and regional food banks, and in pantries all across the state," explained Steve Ammerman, Director of Communications for the New York Farm Bureau. Ammerman said more than 4000 farms have taken part in the program. State comptroller Tom DiNapoli told Capitol Correspondent, Amal Tlaige, this is a win-win program, but there’s room for improvement.
